Quests both Static and DMed!

Well, things have been technically running about a week now and those of you who've tested may have noticed that there aren't any static quests yet introduced! This post is about this and how this will be changed by the middle/end of the working week!

Essentially, the delay in quests has resolved around our wanting great things for them, full developed quest arcs and so on! Unfortunately these oddly enough take a lot of time, and as such whilst a number are in production they'll take some time to finish. But we can't have you jusyt running around waiting too long so the decision has been made in introduce about a dozen short, simple quests to keep people occupied and for us to test the quest engine (its a funky thing with web interface and so on)

These would have been in this weekend if i hadn't had to pretend i know anything about Plastered Skulls, but i did and thus they'll be somewhat delayed. But i'll get on with them just as soon as someone tells me how the quest engine works!

Now moving beyond static quests there is everyones favorite DM events. At the minute there are not many DMs, and those of us who are DMs are a tad busy fixing core bugs, finishing core systems (such as the new hostile encounter system which amongst other things will change spawns depending on the time of day, simulate fear (so monsters badly hurt will run if they feel they can't win), and generally provide a much more developed framework which will allow for future developments such as monsters knowing to target spellcasters and so on). GF is obviously busy, and I'm handing in 1/3 of my years coursework next tuesday, we're also still debating exactly how the DM team will function. That said, we will be beginning to start running more impromptu events throughout the week, time permitting, and if nothing major comes out and bites us hopefully begin staged events from the beginning of next week!
